Light Beam Industries LED Retrofit Replaces Flourescent Tube Lights
Fluorescent tube lights are energy efficient, but they have their drawbacks. Poor light quality, flickering light, fragile glass tubes, and nasty chemicals like mercury can all be tradeoffs for reduced power costs. Fortunately, an LED retrofit like Light Beam Industries’ T8 Fluorescent Replacement Tube can give users the performance advantages of LED lighting, without the hassle and expense of installing new light fixtures.
The Light Beam Industries T8 tubes come in standard 4’ lengths, but custom length tubes can be produced. Each tube produces 2,200 lumens and draws just 30 watts of power, for a projected energy savings of 20% compared to standard fluorescent tubes.
An advantage of the Light Beam Industries T8 system is that it only requires one driver for up to four tubes, as opposed to some systems that require individual drivers for each tube. To use the LED tubes, users simply remove the old ballast and install the new driver, and then use the new light tubes in the existing sockets. The Light Beam Industries system also doesn’t require a starter can.
The manufacturer promises flicker-free light and good performance in cold temperatures. The LED tubes have an estimated lifespan of up to 75,000 hours, and they contain no mercury, lead or phosphor powders.
